Microsoft was hoping to move a grand total of 12 million 360 units by the end of last month. This would be total sales since the console launched. Microsoft had to drop that number to 11.6 million, which is the actual number of units sold. It seems that this may have been due to the strong sales of the Wii. It looks like Microsoft has underestimated Nintendo’s new console, as did much of the gaming industry.
